Answer: British and Eire passport holders do not require a visa for travel to the EU. You must have valid standard 10-year passport, which must be valid until at least the end of your holiday.
Please note that legislation introduced in 1998 requires all children not already included on a valid 10 year passport to hold their own passport to travel abroad. You should always keep a separate record of the number, date and place of issue of your passport in case of loss.
